HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

TO A BRIGHT FUTURE.

Indian Harbor Volunteer Fire Department has a humble beginning nestled in the golden era of the American Dream. Founded in 1972 by a small group of dedicated friends and neighbors, the Indian Harbor VFD was created to serve the newly built Indian Harbor Property Owners Association on the shores of recently completed Lake Granbury.

Indian Harbor FD has grown to serve the neighboring community of Canyon Creek along with approximately fifty square miles of unincorporated Hood County. From one station with a handful of volunteers to three stations and fifty active volunteers, the Indian Harbor Fire Department is proud to recognize our history and is excited for the continued growth of our department.
